2nd Quarter Begins

Today starts the 2nd Quarter. Today we learned more about rhetorical devices. A hyperbole consists of exaggerating in some part of your statement in order to give it emphasis or focus. It can be used when you want to make a point strongly, when you want your reader to snap to attention and focus on what you're saying, and as a way of demonstrating the difference between 2 things. A understatement is the force of a descriptive statement is less than what one would normally expect. It is used as the best way to demonstrate how powerful an event or idea actually is, to lull a rendering a sense of calm, and for humorous effects.
